Guardians of the Galaxy: Karen Gillan cast as lead female Villain!

The latest news for Guardians of the Galaxy is that Karen Gillan, formerly Amy Pond from Doctor Who, has been cast as the lead female villain for the film. Joining yet another space travelling franchise, but this time she will be no meer companion.

She joins the likes of Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Michael Rooker as Yondu, John C Reilly as an Agent Coulson type character who will be the liaison between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Guardians. This also comes of the back of news that Glenn Close has been cast as head of the Nova Corps. This really is turning out to be quite the Galactic Marvel movie that everyone who is interested is hoping for.

As villains go Karen will be joined by Lee Pace who has been cast as an unspecified villain, which I will now call the lead male villain of the film.

Filming is scheduled to begin in London at the end of June, with a penned in release date of 01-08-2014. Add it to your calendar, I have.
