My One to Watch 29-05-2013

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Writer: Brian Wood
Artist: Olivier Coipel

Its been delayed a month, but tomorrow it will finally be hitting our shelves. Waiting for this a month longer than first anticipated has been all the worse considering the moment this was announced I was very excited for this title, with the team up of Brian Wood, in my opinion one of the best writers on the scene currently and Olivier Coipel on art this book is also going to look gorgeous, I can't think of any reasons why there should not be a buzz around this title. Wood has received negative responses regarding the all female cast, and hopefully with this finally coming out tomorrow he can silence the doubters!

Also there is one more female X-Woman to be revealed at the end of the issue as has been hinted at by Wood himself, unless I thought I read it and have just made that up.

My Comic of the Week 22-05-2013

Daredevil #26

Writer: Mark Waid
Artist: Chris Samnee

Daredevil is a title I have heard a lot about and have regretted not picking up since it first came out 3 years ago. Issue 26 marked the 3 year anniversary of the first issue of Mark Waid's run. I have recently been catching up by reading the Trade Paperback format of the title, and I can see how this has won the awards this has, but could not help pick up this bumper special, and I can certainly say this will now be added to my Monthly Pick List. This issue contains a shocking twist, the answer to who has been making Matt Murdock's life a living misery of late. A lot has been said about Chris Samnee's art and well it is all justified, this comic looks gorgeous! Mark Waid really writes a great Daredevil, and after reading this it makes me look forward to when the issue finally arrives with Daredevil making an appearance in another of Waid's titles, Indestructible Hulk. I will certainly be picking up Daredevil from this day forward!

My Cover of the Week 22-05-2013

Superman #20

Cover Art by Aaron Kuder

I recently dropped Superman from My Monthly Pick List, but this cover really made me want to pick this title back up.
The contrast between that bright yellow background and the words smash and characters in the forefront really made this stand out on the shelves. Superman giving Orion a good old fist to the chin, and why could that be? That's right Orion kissed Wonder Woman, and this cover clearly has "You Kissed my Girlfriend!" written all over it. I still did not pick up this issue, as tempting as it was the art style appears to draw influence from Frank Quitely, yet another reason to possibly pick this up, but I am currently waiting for Superman Unchained from the creative team of Snyder and Lee to come out to save Superman as a title in the New 52, and for now I am sticking with the wonderful digital first Adventure's of Superman. But as covers go, this came straight at me off the shelves!

My Picks for the Image Comics August 2013 Solicitations

For the full list of Image Comics Solicitations for August 2013 check out the link below;

Saga #13

"THE SMASH-HIT, CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED SERIES RETURNS!
Now that you've read the first two bestselling collections of SAGA, you're all caught up and ready to jump on the ongoing train with Chapter Thirteen, beginning an all-new monthly sci-fi/fantasy adventure, as Hazel and her parents head to the planet Quietus in search of cult romance novelist D. Oswald Heist."

Saga is at the top of my read pile each week it is out, and in August it returns with #13 after a 3 month break. After issue 12 focusing on the TV Head Prince we return to the lives of the two main characters and their child. With the prince and several other characters now after them and after the cliffhanger ending of the previous issue we can see how everything is currently going for this somewhat complicated family!

Jupiters Legacy #3

"The heroes conspire to overthrow The Utopian, discontent rumbling in the bars and the clubs where the superheroes get wasted and complain how much he's been holding them all back with his old-fashioned ideas of power and responsibility. There's a new world out there if they will only grasp it. But what is his daughter's secret and how will it change things forever for their family?"

The second issue is not out until next month but the first issue did a good job of setting up this series. Mark Millar has really been pushing his creator owned series' but from recent times this would appear to one of his stronger titles and with Frank Quitely on art there is a reason to pick it up with the release of each issue. The cover for this issue really opens up a lot of questions and I look forward to finding out the answers come August!

East of West: Volume 1

"This is the world. It is not the one we wanted, but it is the one we deserved. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse roam the Earth, signaling the End Times for humanity, and our best hope for life, lies in DEATH.
Collects EAST OF WEST #1 - #5."

From the mastermind that is Jonathan Hickman comes the first volume of his creator owned East of West. This is currently only two issues in and I strongly recommend you pick up the reprints, but if you don't feel like picking  up reprints this volume will be a great opportunity for you to pick up this story. Both the art and story have been great so far, and each time I enter my local comic store I hope to see the next issue on the shelf. Issue 3 is out early June, but now I look forward to August for the opportunity to get the first five issues collected in one.

My Picks from the Dark Horse Comics August 2013 Solicitations

Just over a week ago Dark Horse released their solicitations for August 2013. To check out the full list follow the link below. And for my picks just keep reading!

B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth #110

"As Liz Sherman fights for her life in a Utah hospital, the B.P.R.D. sends a recon team into the no-man’s land that used to be New York City, and the young psychic Fenix encounters a monster-worshiping cult at the Salton Sea.
• “Lake of Fire” Part 1 of 5
• Art by Eisner winner Tyler Crook (The Sixth Gun).
“It’s a good a time as any to check in with a series that started as a Hellboy spin-off but has become a force in its own right.”—Comic Book Resources"

Rafael Aberquerque joins on covers and Tyler Crook will be illustrating this next arc "Lake of Fire". B.P.R.D. Well thats a good enough reason to pick this up already. I have slowly been reading more of the Mignola-Verse, Abe Sapien's new ongoing series and the recent Lobster Johnson One Shot, and here is another reason to start picking up another of the titles. I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Station to Station

"Something terrible has happened to the Bay Area. A pipeline explosion has totaled Treasure Island and destroyed the Bay Bridge. At least, that’s the official story.
An interdimensional monster has been brought to San Francisco, and only the men responsible can fight it off, but can they resist its brainwashing? From the pages of Dark Horse Presents!
• From the writers of Betrayal of the Planet of the Apes and Star Wars: Legacy.
• Art by Gabriel Hardman (Agents of Atlas, Hulk, Secret Avengers, Star Wars: Legacy)."

Why should you pick this comic up? From the creative team on Star Wars: Legacy, Betrayal of the Planet of the Apes and Secret Avengers! Here comes one of their creator owned one shots and with the great work on their franchise titles this is bound to be a quality comic!

Halo: Initiation #1

"Halo—one of the largest video game franchises—comes to Dark Horse!
Before she was a supersoldier defending humanity as part of the Spartan IV program, Sarah Palmer was an ODST—Orbital Drop Shock Trooper—carrying out the most dangerous missions behind enemy lines!
• The origin of Sarah Palmer—and the Spartan IV program!
• The Halo franchise has sales eclipsing $3 billion over its lifetime.
• From one of the writers on Halo 4—comics veteran Brian Reed!"

The Halo series is one of the most popular video game titles of all time, with previous comic tie-ins produced by Marvel the franchise has now moved to Dark Horse, who have been successful with such franchises as Star Wars and Mass Effect, Dark Horse produce great tie in comics and I look forward to this one!

My Comic of the Week 15-05-2013: Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #23

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #23

Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Artist: David Marquez
Colorist: Justin Ponsor

This has been one of the standout titles for me from Marvel, when they rejigged the Ultimate Universe of comics, I picked up each one and this is the only title of this Universe I am still collecting. Each month this title consistently has me laughing, gasping, tearing up, Bendis has created such a relatability to the lead character. This issue sees us jump ahead a year after the devastating conclusion to #22. Miles' is "Spider-Man No More", although several different supporting characters are urging him to return to being the costumed hero he is. Marquez is back on art, I always think it must be hard to come back onto an arc after Sara Pichelli but he does a great job. This issue is all about convincing Miles to return to heroehood, and also gives us a little more insight into his now girlfriend, Ultime Kate Bishop, and also more about the relationship between him and his father post issue 22. The finale of this issue sees the introduction of some new teen heroes on the streets, fan favourite characters from the regular Marvel Universe, Cloak and Dagger, and it's great to see their Ultimate counterparts get an introduction. I cannot wait to see how the rest of this arc plays out, the arrival of more teen heroes, will this be enough to see the return of Ultimate Spider-Man!

My Cover of the Week 15-05-2013: FF #7

FF #7

Cover by: Michael Allred

I find it funny how your tastes can change on both story and art in comics. I use to very much be into the more realistic art coming out for comics. But recently I have really been getting into the different styles of art, some of my favourite artists at the moment being, Becky Cloonan, Ming Doyle, Declan Shalvey, Nic Klein and of course Michael Allred. It is sad to say this but FF is my first real insight into the work of Michael Allred and I love it. This cover is a testament to why, his style brings a pop arty comic feel. and the use of speech bubbles on the cover is fantatsic "How do we get within Clobberin' range?" made me laugh out loud, whether this was a collaboration between both the writer and artist I am not sure. The split of two dimensions is produced with great results, the bad guys on one side laying a trap and the heroes flying across to the other even though they know it is a trap! This really is a great, fun cover and that is why it is my cover of the week.

Avengers 2 Joss Whedon Confirms Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver!

Joss Whedon has confirmed the arrival of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Avengers 2. After teasing that a brother and sister team will be arriving for the second installment of this record breaking franchise in an interview. With Scarlet Witch being one of my favourite characters this leaves me very excited, well even more excited for Avengers 2.

Now I look forward to hearing the casting rumours for these two characters, and look forward to seeing who they do choose to play these iconic characters. I just hope they find the right actress to play Scarlet Witch and the correct way to portray these characters in the Cinematic Universe!

My Picks from Marvel Comics Solicitations August 2013

Marvel have released there solicitations for August 2013. For the full list check out the links below, and for my picks keep on reading;

www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=45520

Infinity #1

"The oversized kickoff to the year’s most anticipated Blockbuster summer event, changing the way you view the Marvel Universe!
• The outbreak of war on two fronts: Earth and Space, with our heroes torn between them.
• The world-shattering return of Thanos!
• Includes material from FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: INFINITY"

Marvel seem to be releasing big event books by the bucket load over the past few years. But something has struck me about this one. Scribed by one of my favourite writers, Jonathan Hickman, the mastermind behind Secret Warriors, S.H.I.E.L.D and East of West. Along with a super art team, Jim Cheung, Jerome Opena and Dustin Weaver this book really has a potential to be one of the standout events from Marvel in recent times!

Guardians of the Galaxy #6

"• The blockbuster new series hits hard as Marvel’s newest superstar Angela comes right for the Guardians!
• Round one is Gamora versus Angela…with an entire universe at stake!
• All that and comics legend Neil Gaiman joins the award-winning Ultimate Spider-Man team of Bendis and Pichelli in this one-of-a-kind comic book event!"

Guardians of the Galaxy is back in my pick of the solicitations this month, and really for all the same reasons as last month. Pichelli one of the artists with the first opportunity to draw Angela after the events of Age of Ultron #10 really shows how highly Bendis, and Marvel regard her talents and with Bendis and Gaiman on script, Ponsor on colours, this really should be one of the stand out books come July and August.

Rocket Raccoon: Tales From Half-World

"• Relive the early adventures of the furry, feisty breakout star of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!
...
• Oh, and Rocket’s a talking raccoon from outer space. We mentioned that, right?
• Collecting ROCKET RACCOON #1-4."

Collecting Rocket Raccoon #1-4, with art from Mike Mignola, I really look forward to checking out this solo issues from one of my favourite members of Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel are really pushing books out about this team, and this will be a great chance to get to know Rocket Raccoon!

Thor: God of Thunder #12

"• THOR RETURNS TO MIDGARD! What does it mean to walk the Earth as a god?
• Where does Thor go and who does he see when he’s not out saving the world with the Avengers?
• Also, the return of long-time love interest, Dr. Jane Foster."

Thor: God of Thunder #11 sees the end of the big Gorr arc and God Bomb. So Thor: God of Thunder #12 will be the first issue after this great story that has been one of Marvel NOW's standout titles. This issue sees Nic Klein on art duties, so you just know this will look gorgeous, which really gives another reason to grab this book. This comic sees the return of Dr. Jane Foster, recently featuring in the successful Thor film. This is an issue I can't wait to get my hands on!

Deadpool #15

"• “The Good, the Bad & the Ugly,” Part 1 of 5
• Deadpool’s past in the Weapon X program comes back to haunt him…
…so he calls in help from WOLVERINE & CAPTAIN AMERICA!"

I try my best to support my favourite creators. Now there is a great reason to pick up this title again after really enjoying the first arc of Marvel NOW's Deadpool seeing the uprising of Zombie American President's. Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire join the title on art duties so you know its certainly going to look great! And with Wolverine and Cap joining Deadpool for this storyline, Cap being "The Good", Wolverine "The Bad" and well I can only assume Deadpool is "The Ugly". This sounds like a really interesting and exciting story!

My One to Watch 22-05-2013

Half Past Danger #1

Publisher: IDW Publishing

Writer/ Artist: Stephen Mooney

It was really the way this was advertised that has made me want to grab this title when it is released this week. "DAMES. DINOSAURS. DANGER." What more could you want? Well as evident from the cover Nazis, planes and from an interview with Stephen Mooney in USA Today we know there will be "submarine battles, tanks aplenty" and "ninjas on speeding trains". So I make that DAMES, DINOSAURS, DANGER, NAZIS, NINJAS, TANKS, SUBMARINES and PLANES. Well now what more do you want? The preview art and character designs released on Stephen Mooney's blog all look great.

JLA Earth 2 Deluxe Edition HC

Writer: Grant Morrison
Art: Frank Quitely
"The amazing original graphic novel from the ALL-STAR SUPERMAN creative team of writer Grant Morrison and artist Frank Quitely is back in a new deluxe edition hardcover, that includes a gallery of preliminary art that’s never been published before! Ultraman, Owlman, Power Ring, and Johnny Quick rule their world without mercy or opposition, until the sudden appearance of Superman, Batman and the rest of the Justice League! Realties clash as the Justice League travels to an alternate reality to face off against distorted mirror images of themselves…"

Any excuse for Frank Quitely is a good reason to buy any comic, but with this in particular is I already have the TPB and know this is a great story from Morrison and Quitely, and with the added extra art in the HC thats a good enough reason to pick this up for me.

Batman Incorporated Special #1

Writer: Chris Burnham, Joe Keatinge, Dan DiDio and others
Art: Chris Burnham, Ethan Van Sciver, Jason Masters and others

"An all-star special featuring the various members of Batman Incorporated—Man-of-Bats, Red Raven, El Gaucho, Dark Ranger, Knight, Batman himself and more! In the wake of their epic struggle with Talia al Ghul, the Heretic and Leviathan see what’s next for the members of Batman’s army. Featuring stories written and drawn by a collection of industry greats! Plus: Bat-Cow makes her solo debut in a tale by writer Dan DiDio and artist Ethan Van Sciver!"

This stood out to me not only because I have loved Batman Incorporated since it entered the New 52, but unless he is having it on Dan DiDio has confirmed he will be writing a Bat-Cow story, well if that isn't a reason to buy it I don't know what is.

American Vampire Anthology

Writer: Scott Snyder, Jeff Lemire, Greg Rucka, Gail Simone, Gabriel Ba, Fabio Moon and others
Art: Becky Cloonan, Rafael Albuquerque, Jeff Lemire, Gabriel Ba, Fabio Moon, Francesco Francavilla, Declan Shalvey and others

"You are cordially invited to a party—to die for! This special features eight amazing stories set in the world of American Vampire, with “lost tales,” new characters and old favorites..."

So it came as no surprise to me that Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque would be able to attract and pull together such a star studded group to their title for an Anthology issue come this August. The likes of Becky Cloonan, Jeff Lemire, Francesco Francavilla and Declan Shalvey, scream off the promo image to me as four great reasons to buy this book, backed up by the likes of Greg Rucka, Gail Simone, Ray Fawkes and well apparently many more! Who else could they possibly need?

Trillium #1

Writer/Artist: Jeff Lemire
"It’s the year 3797, and botanist Nika Temsmith is researching a strange species on a remote science station near the outermost rim of colonized space. It’s the year 1921, and renowned English explorer William Pike leads an expedition into the dense jungles of Peru in search of the fabled “Lost Temple of the Incas,” an elusive sanctuary said to have strange healing properties. Two disparate souls separated by thousands of years and hundreds of millions of miles. Yet they will fall in love and, as a result, bring about the end of the universe. Even though reality is unraveling all around them, nothing can pull them apart. This isn’t just a love story; It’s the LAST love story ever told."

I have recently read Jeff Lemire's contribution to the Digital First Adventures of Superman which has given me very high hopes for this series. Vertigo are giving these creators a great opportunity to showcase there own work, and the concept, art, idea and story is something that really intrigues me and I really can not wait to get a copy of this in my hand and flick through it and read it of course.

Batman #23

Writer: Scott Snyder
Art: Greg Capullo and Danny Miki
Backup Story Art: Rafael Albuquerque

"Witness the moment Bruce Wayne becomes Batman as “Zero Year” makes history! And in the backup story, a young Bruce Wayne fights for his life in a death match in Russia!"

Scott Snyder has recently said that "Zero Year" is his proudest work so far on Batman in the New 52. Snyder and Capullo have been a formidable team since the New 52, and this issue contains the moment Bruce Wayne becomes the Batman. With this moment in the issue I have no doubts that Capullo will do something absolutely stunning, as there has not been an issue of Batman he has not nailed!

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Official Trailer is here!

The first official trailer for Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has arrived. This 3 minute long trailer gives us a good idea of what the show will be about, although there are no clues as to how Agent Coulson is back, just that we know it is definitely set after the events of Avengers. The amount of promotion that has been coming out for this programme since its announcement of being picked up by abc, really shows the belief they have in this series. I strongly recommend you check out the trailer below!

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D "Welcome to Level 7"

Another Vine teaser and also we now know the day and time that Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will air, Tuesdays @ 8:00pm, Fall 2013. Well at least we now know the day of the week and the time to be sitting in front of our tv sets and once the date is released it will certainly be one for the calendar!

Marvel Infinity #1 Covers

The regular and a variant cover for Marvel's late summer event have been released, Infinity #1. Out of the two I think I prefer Art Adams variant cover with the Avengers, but there is something dark and threatening about Adam Kubert's Thanos cover for the first issue. Which one do you prefer? Check them out below.

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D "Don't Touch Lola"

One of the best moments of the Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D promo has hit the internet and thats because it is classic Agent Coulson. Check out the image below to see what i'm  talking about. Gift from Tony Stark? Is there more to Lola than meets the eye? and no I do not mean Transformers! Could it fly? S.H.I.E.L.D have flying cars right? I'm pretty sure Nick Fury had a flying car in the comics. Anyway this was a genuine laugh out loud moment from the end of the promo and a great pic of it is below;

Vertigo announce American Vampire Anthology With A Superstar Creative Team!

I am slowly catching up with American Vampire through the trade paperbacks and I am thoroughly enjoying them.

This will be something I will certainly be looking out for come August, any excuse for art from Cloonan, Shalvey and Francavilla.

If you need anymore reasons to buy this other than the creative teams involved well I don't really know how else to persuade you.

Man of Steel Three New Posters

Three more posters, three times the excitement and just over a month till we can finally see if this is the Superman film we have all been hoping for! The countdown continues...

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Promo is here!

Its here first thing I checked out this morning is the promo for Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D! Agent Coulson lives and I can not wait to see more of this show and abc have launched two sites to go with it, there own official site, and a sister site blog for The Rising Tide which I can only assume is attributed the the hacktivists of the programme trying to prove S.H.I.E.L.D exist. Also a 6 second Vine Teaser was released earlier yesterday. For all of this check it out below!

My One to Watch 15-05-2013

Battlestar Galactica #1

Writer: Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning
Artist: Cezar Rezak
Cover Artist: Alex Ross

When I was younger I remember watching this programme when I was little with my dad, I loved the space fights, and was terrified of the Cylons. But then in 1999, as I turned 10, I went and watched Star Wars Episode 1 and then came my new sci-fi franchise. But there is something about when I watched the original series that I feel had some reposonsibility for my first steps towards loving the Science Fiction/ Space Opera genre. 2013 marks the 35th anniversary of the original tv series and Dynamite bring us a new ongoing title from the all star sci-fi, cosmic team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, they did great things with the Marvel Cosmic Universe and I have high hopes for them on this series. I have never really seen much of Dynamite art and I do not know much about Cezar Rezak but I just hope the art compliments the title and the genre. I'll be picking this up come Wednesday and hopefully it will bring back even more memories of when I watched this as a child with my dad.

My Comic of the Week 08-05-2013

Batman #20

Publisher: DC Comics

Writer: Scott Snyder
Artist: Greg Capullo

The past two issues of Batman have been a welcome break from the 5-6 issue storylines of late. Don't get me wrong those storylines have been incredible, but this did feel like a much needed change of pace. Issue 20 concludes the two part story begun in last months gatefold issue 19. A classic Batman detective comic, with help of fan favourite supporting characters and a very heartfelt moment of a father's grief for his son. This two parter saw the first real appearance of Clayface in the New 52, as he had never been seen before and this villain was used to create a very intriguing and exciting detective thriller. Capullo continues to impress on art, and just seems to get better each issue. This murder mystery, suspense, thriller was a great read. The other highlight of these past two issues has been the support story which highlighted and defined the friendship between Superman and Batman, a friend wanting to be there for a friend when needed most. This has really ramped up my anticipation for Greg Pak and Jae Lee's Batman Superman title. If your brain had felt beaten and bruised from Scott Snyder's huge, epic and fantastic storylines since the beginning of his Batman run in the New 52 then both this and issue 19 would be a great way for your mind to get a little welcome rest but with a very rewarding story. The next issue marks the beginning of Batman Zero Year and after this I can not wait to see what comes next from Snyder and Capullo and how they will be using the rest of Batman's villain catalogue.

My Cover of the Week 08-05-2013

Fearless Defenders #4

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Cover Artist: Mark Brooks

One of the ongoing highlights of this title from Marvel has been Mark Brooks, intriguing and incredibly fun covers. From a scene set in Street Fighter, to a shrink wrapped action figure, they have always jumped at me of the shelf. This has to be one of my favourite, giving me the urge to commit comic collector blasphemy and actually cut this cover out and put the different elements together. The details in this cover from the tabs to the plushie Thor, and the instructions to "Cut cape away from armour", where are the scissors? I have long debated about whether the covers should be drawn by the interior illustrator and also have relevance to the story that will be taking place in the issue. But Mark Brooks covers are a great argument against that theory with these beautiful and fun covers and I always look forward to seeing what he comes up with next!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ID Cards

Images of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D identification cards have been released. Revealing some idea of there roles in the programme and expertise, and also an interesting image of Skye, which has helped made more sense of the stamp on the leaked Hulk footage from the series, which Disney quickly worked to get off of the internet.

Phil Coulson: Field Officer
Leo Fitz: Engineer
Jemma Simmons: Bio-Chemist
Melinda May: Administrator
Grant Ward: Specialist
Skye: Unknown, But I can only assume she may be some sort of hacker.

It would appear there are plenty of role and diverse career options within S.H.I.E.L.D, and by the end of tomorrow we should have the first footage from the promo of these guys in action. I am so excited for this series and I really am hoping it will be a success as much for Clark Gregg or Agent Coulson who really has become a fan favourite character from the films. Coulson Lives! But how?

Marvel Infinity Tie in Covers for August

Infinity hits stores in August with the first issue of a 6 issue event written by Jonathan Hickman with art from Jim Cheung, Dustin Weaver and Jerome Opena. This is an event that will crossover into other titles and Marvel have released cover imagine for some of these tie-ins. Two of these coming from Hickman's other titles Avengers and New Avengers, and also the fan favourite and successful title from Kelly Sue Deconnick Avengers Assemble.

Avengers #18

Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Artist: Leinil Yu

This cover from Leinil Yu for Avengers #18 clearly depicts the arrival of Skrulls, it has been hinted in interviews and conversations that surprisingly the Skrulls are in fact involved as some form of Ally to the Avengers. This mainly comes as a surprise considering the outcome a previous Marvel event 'Secret Invasion', I look forward to seeing how the Skrulls fit into this event and can not wait to see them illustrated by Yu.

New Avengers #9

Writer: Jonathan Hickman
Artist: Mike Deodato Jnr

Another tie in cover revealed for the Infinity event is New Avengers #9. This cover includes one of the first images of Thanos and his generals, with Thanos arriving early in New Avengers, this must signal some sort of involvement from the Illuminati. More will be known when the solicits are released and obviously when the issue is released. With Mike Deodato Jnr on art duties you know this book will look gorgeous. With Deodato joining the already incredible talent on this event I have high hopes for how this will turn out.

Avengers Assemble #18

Writer: Kelly Sue Deconnick
Artist: Barry Kitson

Kelly Sue Deconnick brings the Avengers Assemble team to Infinity and judging by the cover it doesn't go to well, the debris of weapons of what I would call senior Avengers, I spot Caps Shield, Thor's Hammer and Hawkeyes Bow and Arrow. The other giveaway that things may not be going quite as planned is the situation Spider-Woman is in, suffocating in space. I am usually a sucker for Tie-Ins and most likely will be grabbing this and the two above come August.

ABC Picks up Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Its official, ABC, have picked up Joss Whedon's Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D TV series. Both the logo and image of team have been released. Find the image of the team to your left.

The first chance of seeing Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D with the first promo forr the programme will be during the season finale of Once Upon a Time this Sunday evening.

Once this is released as a promo trailer I will get this on here. But for now I have to go and find a calculator and see if I can afford Cable or Satellite TV.

Marvel reveal more about Infinity rolling up to August Solicitations

During the course of the week more and more details regarding Infinity have been released, including covers for the tie in issues and a little background on each of Thanos's generals. CBR have been running a feature highlighting two of these generals every couple of days including artist designs, a short description of the character and how they fit into Thanos's plans. Finally yesterday, once again during their Axel-In-Charge interview, newer images were released of Thanos and his generals including character name, please see these below;

Cover for Guardians of the Galaxy #6 revealed!

During the Comic Book Resources exclusive Axel-In-Charge report, and after getting our first look at Angela's character design yesterday, the cover image for Guardians of the Galaxy #6 has been revealed. Drawn by Sara Pichelli this cover is gorgeous, as I had expected.

This still doesn't give too much away on Angela's background or status in the Marvel U or how she fits into plans for Guardians of the Galaxy, but with Neil Gaiman himself onboard with Brian Michael Bendis for her first involvement in the Marvel Universe after her arrival in the final pages of the conclusion of Age of Ultron I have faith it will work and I can't wait to see how the interiors look after this stunning cover from Pichelli.
